ODF 1.1 Implementer Notes for Office 2007 SP2


Microsoft has published the first set of document-format implementation notes, for the ODF implementation in Office 2007 SP2.

These notes, which are available on the DII web site, provide detailed information about the design decisions that went into our implementation of ODF 1.1. The implementation notes can be found under the "OASIS ODF 1.1" option on the Reference dropdown.

MOSS - Web Services for Remote Portlets Tookit


The Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) Toolkit for Office SharePoint Server 2007 has been announced.

The WSRP Toolkit for SharePoint provides sample code for producing WSRP conformant data from SharePoint lists and libraries. External portal platforms (e.g. BEA AquaLogic Portal, IBM WebSphere Portal, SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Portal etc.) can then render SharePoint data natively through their WSRP consumer portlets.

The Microsoft Generation 4 Modular Data Centers will take the flexibility of containerized servers and apply it across the entire facility, which will be composed of modular 'building blocks' of prefabricated mechanical, electrical and security components, etc. in addition to containerized servers.

These facilities can be built incrementally as capacity grows and deployed in only 3 to 6 months, reducing capital costs and construction wastes, packaging and energy.

Moonlight 1.0 Beta 1 download
