Energy Blue Theme Pack

The Energy Blue theme from the new Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 has been made available for download for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005. I installed it on standard XP by first saving the download .exe file and then extracting the various theme files using WinRAR - I then used the Theme selector in Display Properties to point at the .theme file.

      You can also simply extract the contents of the folder including the *.theme files into C:\WINDOWS\RESOURCES\THEMES\ using WinRAR. When you open the display properties the theme is available for selection via the Themes and Appearance Tabs.

    Link to Energy Blue.

      The link listed above is broken, but the instructions work perfectly. Thanks.

      Any idea where I could find that Grey/Slate colored one that I've seen in a number of screenshots?

    I think it comes with Windows Server 2003.

      Randomly found this post but, simply extracting the content into that folder will not properly install the theme. In order to do it correctly, you have to put the files (assuming c:\windows\resources\themes\ as a root):

    royale.theme -> \

    royale.msstyles -> \Royale\

    energybliss.jpg -> \Royale\Wallpaper\

    shellstyle.dll -> \Royale\Shell\NormalColor\

    shellstyle.dll -> \Royale\Shell\Metallic\

    shellstyle.dll -> \Royale\Shell\Homestead\

    I'm not sure if I have this perfectly done, but you can try to extract this info too, by openening royale.theme in notepad or the update.inf file in the \update folder in the .rar file.

      works fantastically, thanks!

      After inspecting the update.inf file in notepad as instructed I discovered that if you place a further copy of shellstyle.dll in \Royale\Shell\Royale\ this theme works perfectly and looks really nice

      Just run shell style and royal.theme and you'll be up and running
